Mold Remediation in Rochester Hills, MI

The first thing that need to be done for a mold remediation job, is to have it tested by an indoor air quality hygienist (IAQH). This test is required because it tells us several important facts we need to know to properly remediate the mold. An air sample test is taken to obtain spore trap sampling on the level of the home where microbial growth is suspected. The IAQH may take topical lift tape samples if there is visible mold on that level. The inspector may next take additional samples on other levels of the home to see if they are affected by microbial growth as well and what kind. The final test is an outdoor control air sample. Each area and region have different normal levels of acceptable microbial spores in the air. This test is used to compare the spore levels in the home and determines if the levels are elevated and what remediation needs to be done. Some spores can be toxic and may require for the customer to move out until the mold remediation has been completed. If only one level of the home is found to have elevated spore count then that area will need to set in containment as so to not contaminate the rest of the home once demolition and cleaning begins as this will release spores into the air making them airborne. When the demo is done, all areas need to be cleaned with antimicrobial cleaner and air scrubbers placed to remove remaining spores from the air. Once work is complete, a post test is performed to confirm that spore level are back within normal range.
